- We deeply appreciate the generosity of so many in our parish who choose to support the work of our parish. We are a non-profit organized under IRS section 501(c)(3) and donations made to the parish are deductible to the full extent of the law. Our EIN is 94-1156709.
  
  If you are making a donation of stock follow the Diocese of Oakland procedures here and be sure to list St. Joseph Basilica on the form.
  
  For estate planning, you may designate gifts to Roman Catholic Bishop of Oakland, a corporate sole, for the benefit of St. Joseph Basilica.
- Faithdirect.net online giving
  Faithdirect.net is our online giving partner for both recurring gifts as well as one-time gifts. Our church code is CA702. Faith Direct can be used to make ACH transfers from your bank account and also accepts all major credit cards. You may order offertory cards if you feel more comfortable with being able to place something physically in the offering basket. Recurring gifts can be set up for all parish and diocesan collections and St. Vincent de Paul.
- Envelopes or checks
  Envelopes or checks can be dropped off in the mailslot or mailed to 1109 Chestnut. It is helpful if you write your family ID number either in the memo area of the check or at the top of the check. To obtain your ID number either look on your church envelope or contact our parish office at (510) 522-0181 or [email protected]. If you wish to start or stop receiving offeratory envelopes please contact our parish office.
- Stocks or securities
  Stocks or securities donations to the parish are handled through the Diocese of Oakland. See the form and instructions here. You may also contact our Business Manager if you have any questions
- Estate planning
  Consider including St.Joseph's when you update your will or living trust. Our EIN is 94-1156709. Our legal entity name is Roman Catholic Bishop of Oakland dba St. Joseph Basilica. If you have any questions or wish to make a restricted gift for a special project or program please consult with our Business Manager, Stan Schonberg who will work with you to make sure the parish is able to fulfill the restriction.
  
  Bequests and donations to diocese approved capital campaigns are the two classes of gifts to parishes that are exempt from assessments from the Diocese.

- Real and personal property
  If you have real or personal property that you wish to donate or leave as a bequest, please contact our Business Manager at (510) 995-9411 to discuss in advance. We cannot accept vehicles as a donation due to diocese policy. We also do not need pianos.
