Saturday December 16, 9:00 to 11:30 AM in the Basilica.
In this season of growing darkness in the natural world — and in world events — it is sometimes hard to see the light or experience how God is at work in the world. Yet “a light shines in the darkness and the darkness did not overcome it (Jn. 1:5). If you need help seeing the light, experiencing hope, or you just want to be in the company of other people who are also looking for light in the darkness, join us for a morning of reflection. We’ll take time to slow down and remind ourselves of the quiet, expectant nature of Advent even during the whirlwind of the secular holiday season. We’ll touch on the biblical themes of the season, have time for individual prayer and journaling, small group sharing, and large group conversation about how to keep our eyes on the Light of Christ even if it seems there is darkness all around. Led by local spiritual director, Ann Naffziger, MA, MDiv. Bring a bible and a journal if available.
8am Mass followed by refreshments before the session.
